Stewart's Rosewater Poster And Trailer Premiere
Chris Scalzo
Jon Stewart’s directorial debut, Rosewater now has a poster and a trailer. Base on the memoir adapted by Stewart, Rosewater tells the story of Maziar Bahari, the reporter for Newsweek that was covering the tumultuous elections in Iran in 2009. Bahari was jailed for espionage and ruthlessly interrogated for 118 days.
A segment on The Daily Show featuring Bahari interviewing Jason Jones as an inept spy bumbling through Iran was actually used against him during his interrogation, along with his Facebook ‘Likes’ and his internet browsing history. The trailer certain seems to relay some uplifting moments, and being asked what Brazzers is must make for some good laughs.
Rosewater stars Gael Garcia Bernal as Bahari and is set to hit theaters on November 7, 2014, after its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
