First Trailer For Refn’s The Neon Demon
Chris Scalzo
It’s a big day here at TFR Studios. Not only has the first trailer for Nicholas Winding Refn’s latest, The Neon Demon been released, but the film has been accepted by the Cannes Film Festival.
If you’re not familiar with Refn’s work, he’s the director behind one of my favorite films, ‘Drive’, along with ‘Valhalla Rising’, ‘Bronson’, the ‘Pusher’ trilogy and the unfairly maligned ‘Only God Forgives’. Yes, I wrote unfairly.
The Neon Demon is Refn’s first horror film and appears to embrace the classic giallo aesthetics. The IMDB description is as follows: When aspiring model Jesse moves to Los Angeles, her youth and vitality are devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women who will take any means necessary to get what she has. Sounds spooky.
The Neon Demon stars Elle Fanning, Christina Hendricks and Keanu Reeves. Cliff Martinez returns to score the film along with assists from Refn himself. Take a look and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
I’m giddy.
