TFR Ep. 304: Green Room, WarGames, 80's Marathon Awards
Chris Scalzo
Patrick Stewart is an evil neo-Nazi bad ass! Well, he plays one in ‘Green Room’. It’s the latest film from ‘Blue Ruin’ director, Jeremy Saulnier. Anton Yelchin, Alia Shaukat and Imogen Poots round out an all star cast of unusual actor names. It’s about a punk rock band, desperately in need of cash decides to do a show at a skinhead club. And shockingly, things go horribly wrong. Does ‘Green Room’ measure up to Saulnier’s deconstruction of the revenge film, ‘Blue Ruin’? Then it’s a review of the big releases on Blu-Ray & DVD. Does anyone still buy DVD’s? We’ll fill you in on what you should be streaming this week as well. After that, we wrap up our 80’s “Do They Hold Up?” Marathon with ‘WarGames’. Does Ferris accidentally start a thermonuclear war?!? And how big were floppy discs in 1983? With the wrap up of our marathon, it’s time for the awards. What were the best and worst films of the marathon? What was the most 80’s moment? Listen on buttheads!
