TFR Ep. 375: 3 Billboards Outside Of Ebbing MO, The House, TFR Libs
Chris Scalzo
On this episode of The First Run, Matt & Chris discuss the latest film from director Martin McDonagh of ‘In Bruge’ and ‘The Guard’ fame with ‘Three Billboards Outside Of Ebbing Missouri ‘. The film stars Frances McDormand as a grieving mother desperate to find out who murdered her daughter. Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell also star as the local police not so infatuated with her methods. It’s the darkest kind of dram-edy. After the tepid ‘Seven Psychopaths’, does McDonagh rebound? Then it’s on to the Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler vehicle, ‘The House’. Two of the biggest names in comedy are joined by a murderer’s row of funny. But is the film itself funny? There’s the traditional run down of the big releases coming out on Blu-Ray & DVD, featuring the Straight to DVD and Streaming Picks of the Week. The show then wraps with the return of everyone’s favorite fill-in-the-blank game, TFR Libs. Shuffle up and deal! It’s our non-special 375th anniversary episode!
