TFR Ep. 484: The Grudge ’20, Light Of My Life, 5 Worst Horror Sequels
Chris Scalzo
This week on The First Run, Chris and Matt discuss the not-long-awaited sequel to the creepy kid, scary ‘ahhhh’ cackling lady franchise, ‘The Grudge’. It’s been quite a few years since this particular horror import has had a sequel. Was it worth the wait? Then it’s on to ‘Light Of My Life’. Casey Affleck writes and directs himself as a Dad desperately trying to keep his young daughter safe in a world here most of the women were wiped out by a pandemic. Does this The Last Of Us/The Road/Y The Last Man mash up deliver the drama and thrills? Perhaps a little too much of column A and not enough of column B? There’s the always riveting rundown on the big releases on home video, featuring the Streaming and Straight to DVD Picks of the Week. Then the show closes with Chris and Matt sharing what they feel are the 5 Worst Horror Sequels of all time. It’s a tough business, those horror sequels. What ones will turn out on “Garbage Day!”?
