TFR Ep. 522: Verotika, Chinatown, Neo-Noir Marathon Awards
Chris Scalzo
This week on The First Run… listen. Matt and I love horror anthologies. And Shudder premiered Glenn Danzig’s anthology, ‘Verotika’ awhile back. We’ve heard…things and decided we needed to check it out for ourselves. The film features three tales of terror, loosely linked by…hell, we don’t know. Then our Neo-Noir Marathon wraps with 1974’s ‘Chinatown’. Jack Nicholson plays the hard-boiled detective stuck in the middle of a governmental corruption scheme, as well as some truly horrifying family matters. Which of course means it’s time for our Marathons Awards. And we’ll undoubtably review the big releases on physical media, featuring the Streaming and Straight to DVD films of the week. So settle in, crank ‘MOTHER!’ and listen to the latest episode of The First Run.
