TFR Ep. 324: The Birth Of A Nation, Tales Of Halloween, 5 Best Performances In A Film Based On True Events
Chris Scalzo
This week on the big show, Chris and Matt discuss the the introductory film by Nate Parker, ‘The Birth Of A Nation’. It’s the story about the Nat Turner rebellion that initially garnered rave reviews, but has since come under a cloud of controversy. A film originally tagged to easily be an Oscar nomination favorite, that has since faced some challenges. Chris and Matt discuss all of these matters and weigh in on the film’s Oscar chances. After that serious, thought-provoking, pretentious discussion, it’s on to the big releases on Blu-Ray & DVD, featuring the Streaming and Straight To DVD Picks of the Week. But the fun doesn’t end there! Our Halloween Horror Marathon continues with the anthology film, ‘Tales Of Halloween’. Matt & Chris both love their horror anthologies. But will they be let down yet again? Then finally, it’s a final segment so awkwardly titled we don’t know where to begin. It’s the 5 Best Performances In A Film Based On True Events. THat’s the best we could come up with. Deal with it.
