TFR Ep. 344: Kong: Skull Island, Ikiru, 5 Best Movie Hunters
Chris Scalzo
Kong (don’t call him King) returns. This time he’s attacking/saving Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Sam Jackson and John Goodman on the mysterious Skull Island. Does Legendary Pictures’ continuation of their Monsterverse (after Godzilla ’14) validate the need for a franchise? Is a bigger Kong truly better? And does Samuel L. Jackson get to drop an ‘F’ bomb? (No.) Our Kurosawa-than continues with what many believe is his true masterpiece, ‘Ikiru’. Kurosawa’s tale of a man facing his imminent demise and attempting to finally discover what it means to live, while dealing with the government bureaucracy he’s been a part of for most of his life. But is it funny? As always Chris & Matt review the big releases on Blu-Ray & DVD, Featuring the Streaming and Straight to DVD Picks of the Week. The guys then wrap up the show with their 5 Favorite Movie Hunter or Tracker Characters. Chris really drops the ball on this one. Enjoy!
